Helping Kajang children keep a steady routine during the haze
Practical guidance from myKiwi for SJK(C) Yu Hua and SJK(C) Sungai Chua families: check confirmed school arrangements, keep learning manageable and plan education expenses carefully.

When school arrangements may change, children often need the same things as usual: a clear plan, someone to listen and time to rest. For working parents in Kajang, coordinating school, transport and after-school care can also take extra attention.
This myKiwi parent guide brings together dated public information and simple ideas for home and daycare. It is written for families with primary-school children, including those attending SJK(C) Yu Hua and SJK(C) Sungai Chua.

KPM guidance dated 10 October · follow your school's own messages
For Yu Hua and Sungai Chua families: check, then coordinate
KPM's guidance sets an announcement time before 5:45 pm on ordinary weekdays, using official education and school channels. Different timings apply before the school week begins. This guide does not confirm a separate new notice from either primary school.
- Read the original message and check the school name, date and session before forwarding it.
- Tell your care and transport providers about any confirmed attendance or collection change, and ask them to acknowledge it.
- Explain the next day's plan to your child in a few calm, simple sentences.

Small routines that help children feel prepared
A disrupted timetable does not need to become a day of extra worksheets. Keep familiar anchors and make room for your child to tell you what they need.
Begin with a short check-in
Ask what your child understands about tomorrow's plan. Correct misunderstandings gently and make it clear which adult will be looking after them.
Choose one manageable learning task
Use the teacher's current instructions to pick a short piece of homework or revision. Break a difficult task into steps and leave space for questions.
Keep reading enjoyable
Let your child choose a book, read a few pages and tell you one thing they found interesting. A shared story can be part of an indoor routine without becoming another test.
Protect time for rest and connection
Keep regular meals and bedtime where possible. Notice effort, listen to worries and avoid filling every spare moment with tuition or screen time.
Organise education records before you need them
Keep receipts in one folder and record the payment date, provider, subject or service, and amount. If an invoice combines several services, ask the provider to explain the charges separately. This makes family budgeting clearer; a detailed receipt alone does not establish tax eligibility. Keep documents private rather than sharing children's details in public groups.

Before the next school day: a four-step parent checklist
Use this checklist with the latest instructions from your child's school:
- Confirm the latest notice applies to your child's school, session and date.
- Agree who will collect your child and where the handover will take place.
- Pack the materials requested by the teacher and tell your child the plan.
- Contact myKiwi about any change to an existing care arrangement before assuming it is available.
