Dong Jiao Zong calls for 12 Chinese periods: what Kajang parents should know
An association has requested a formal 12-period guarantee. This is not a new government decision or a confirmed school timetable.

Dong Jiao Zong’s statement of 27 October asks for at least 12 weekly Chinese-language periods to be written into the 2027 SJK(C) timetable. Families at SJK(C) Yu Hua and SJK(C) Sungai Chua should distinguish that request from an approved change.

Association position — not a KPM decision
What is the association asking for?
It argues that two discretionary periods above the proposed ten-period minimum may depend on staffing, resources and each school’s timetable. It wants a formal guarantee rather than relying on local additions.
The statement also welcomes Chinese as the language of SJK(C) character-building activities and asks for this to be recorded in the administrative circular.
Formal documents and school confirmation
What should parents wait for?
The detailed timetable circular was not located in the KPM public announcement pages checked for this update. This is a limited public-source check, not proof that no document exists elsewhere.
The earlier ministerial clarification described ten periods as a minimum and a circular expected in November or early December. No exact publication date was reported. Neither this expectation nor the association’s request confirms a school’s dismissal time.

Three practical questions for parents
Use confirmed school information before changing family arrangements.
Chinese periods
Ask for the school’s final Year 1 subject timetable.
Collection time
Confirm dismissal before changing pickup or transport.
After-school needs
Discuss language learning, homework and rest based on your child’s actual needs.

Keep daily learning manageable
While awaiting official arrangements, continue a comfortable reading routine and encourage children to ask questions. These are family suggestions, not new curriculum requirements.

Dates and notices to watch
This update does not establish a school-specific timetable.
- A KPM professional circular is expected in November or early December 2026; no exact publication date was reported.
- Previously announced: Yu Hua Parent–Child 3C Literacy Talk, 31 October, 10am–1pm. Confirm current event and registration arrangements with the organiser.
- No newly verified public event for Sungai Chua is included in this update. This does not mean the school has issued no notices.
For Yu Hua and Sungai Chua families
Wait for your child’s school to confirm its timetable. Contact myKiwi in Taman Saga Emas, Kajang, to discuss daycare and tuition needs after those details are available. Transport, hours and availability require confirmation. myKiwi is not speaking on behalf of either school.
Use the school’s confirmed timetable to plan your child’s day.
